Letters from Budapest
R.O. ATKINS grew up in the small town of Gainesville, Florida. During his spectacularly improbable career he has been a City Manager, cinema owner, foreign investment consultant, small-time real estate developer and – in his present incarnation – English teacher.

2. Letters from Budapest, R.O Atkins
In August, 2000 R.O. Atkins moved to Budapest with his wife so she could continue her studies at a local university. Quirky, off-beat and occasionally irreverent, “Letters from Budapest” is a compilation of actual correspondence written to family and friends over the following seven years. With innate American optimism and an understanding of European irony, the author spins stories of everyday life abroad with humor and wit. Although it is about one life in Eastern Europe, it is more often about a man growing up and growing older in his bewildering roles as an often-confused foreign resident, teacher and finally, a father.
